George Adda Award

The Victorian Engineering Senate Incorporated (VES) is a body of RTOs delivering engineering training to apprentices and VETiS students across Victoria.

The primary role of the VES is to provide a common forum for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and Industry Representatives for the development, implementation and maintenance of quality training products in the Engineering Industries.

Recently the VES held their annual general meeting and conference, hosted by TAFE Gippsland. At the AGM the Victorian Engineering Senate voted to recognise members for their service and contribution to promote the Victorian Engineering Senate, with the introduction of Life Membership award.

At the conference dinner, former Box Hill employee George Adda was inducted as the inaugural life member of the Victorian Engineering Senate Incorporated.

George had been filling the position of Curriculum Maintenance Manager – Engineering Industries (CMM-EI) for the last 20 years and retired on 4 Aug 22. George has been pro-active in promoting the Victorian Engineering Senate during his time as the CMM.

VES President, Shayne van der Heide told the audience of George’s contribution to the Victorian Engineering Senate, when presenting George with the Life Membership.

The award is made from stainless steel and represents the logo of the Victorian Engineering Senate. The award was fabricated by Engineering staff from Ringwood Training.

The Life Membership Award is now to be known as the “George Adda Award”.
